They also contain information about fire statistics in AU Residence Halls and crime statistics for the three previous calendar years concerning reported crimes that occurred on campus; in certain off-campus buildings or property owned or controlled by Auburn; and on public property within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from the campus.

This information is required by law and is provided by AU Department of Public Safety and Security.

Position Summary Information

Job Description Summary

The Auburn University Industrial and Systems Engineering Department seeks to fill up to two (2) faculty positions at the Assistant and/or Associate Professor level. Successful candidates should be able to teach classes at the graduate and undergraduate levels in the areas of systems engineering, advanced manufacturing and simulation. Specific areas of research interest include (1) application of systems engineering in the design and development of complex systems to include requirements development and analysis and system architecture and modeling, (2) manufacturing system design and development including the machine to machine networking and data collection, industrial internet of things, Smart Manufacturing and Industry 4.0, (3) simulation development, application and analysis of complex systems with emphasis on random processes, model building and construction of computer simulation models, (4) large scale optimization, and (5) data analytics.
The successful candidate will be expected to establish a strong extramurally-funded research program, teach undergraduate and graduate courses, contribute to mentoring students, and will participate in outreach and provide service to the department, college, and university. The successful candidate is expected to bring experience, innovation, enthusiasm, technology, and leadership to the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering. Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering or a related field from an ABET accredited institution. A commensurate record of successful academic activities, including funded research, teaching and scholarly publications, will be required for applicants at the associate professor level.
The candidate selected for this position must be able to meet eligibility requirements to work in the United States at the time the appointment is scheduled to begin and continue to work legally for the proposed term of employment.
