They also contain information about fire statistics in AU Residence Halls and crime statistics for the three previous calendar years concerning reported crimes that occurred on campus; in certain off-campus buildings or property owned or controlled by Auburn; and on public property within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from the campus.

This information is required by law and is provided by AU Department of Public Safety and Security.

Position Summary Information

Job Description Summary

The Department of Civil Engineering at Auburn University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level in Pavements/Materials Engineering beginning Spring or Fall, 2018. Candidates should have research and teaching interests that complement those of the existing faculty. Areas of current research interests include, but are not limited to: advanced materials characterization and testing, pavement modeling, sustainable pavement technologies, and transportation infrastructure environmental impacts. The selected faculty member is expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in pavement/materials engineering, develop an externally funded research program, and direct graduate students. The selected candidate is expected to engage in service activities with professional organizations and the university.

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must hold a doctoral degree in civil engineering or a closely related field. Must meet eligibility requirements to work in the U.S. on the date appointment is scheduled to begin and continue working legally for the proposed term of the appointment. Must communicate effectively in English.

Desired Qualifications

The ability to complete requirements for professional engineering licensure in a timely manner is desirable.
