Position Summary Information

Job Description Summary

This is a full-time, non-tenure track position and is subject to annual renewal. The successful candidate will join an interactive group that includes five other faculty anatomic pathologists and three residents in anatomic pathology. The Clinical Lecturer will actively participate on the surgical pathology and necropsy diagnostic services and will also be involved in the training of residents, the instruction of veterinary students, and attendance and presentation in various journal clubs and multi-disciplinary case rounds. The successful candidate also will be encouraged to become involved in diagnostic anatomic pathology-related research projects as time and interest permit. A large portion of our surgical pathology service caseload is small animal oncology, and the successful candidate will have a strong working knowledge of current grading/classification schemes for various neoplasms, as well as experience with the use of immunohistochemical stains for tumor characterization.

Minimum Qualifications

Candidates must hold a DVM or equivalent degree and be ACVP or ECVP board-certified in anatomic pathology before starting this position. Essential to this position are excellent written and verbal communication skills, with both pathology colleagues as well as clinicians.

Desired Qualifications

An advanced graduate degree is desirable, but not required. Experience and interest in dermatopathology is also desirable.
