They also contain information about fire statistics in AU Residence Halls and crime statistics for the three previous calendar years concerning reported crimes that occurred on campus; in certain off-campus buildings or property owned or controlled by Auburn; and on public property within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from the campus.

This information is required by law and is provided by AU Department of Public Safety and Security.

Position Summary Information

Job Description Summary

The Department of Chemical Engineering at Auburn University invites applications for multiple tenure-track faculty positions beginning the Fall 2017 semester. The individual selected for this position will be expected to contribute to the growth of at least one of the department’s strategic focus areas: energy and environment, advanced materials, computer-aided chemical engineering, and pharmaceutical/biomedical engineering. Furthermore, the candidate will be expected to collaborate with faculty on a number of interdisciplinary research projects, secure research funding, teach undergraduate and graduate courses, and publish research results in appropriate scholarly outlets. Additionally, the department is leading two multidisciplinary Cluster Hire Initiatives in the areas of Scalable Energy and Pharmaceutical Engineering. Candidates selected for these Cluster Hire Initiative positions will be expected to participate actively in the respective clusters. New faculty with expertise in Scalable Energy and Pharmaceutical Engineering will complement the University’s considerable expertise in these areas to form the core of this innovative multidisciplinary initiative. For candidates selected for these cluster positions, participation in cluster activities will be an important component in faculty annual reviews. Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or a closely related field. The candidate selected for this position must be able to meet eligibility requirements to work in the United States at the time appointment is scheduled to begin and continue working legally for the proposed term of employment. Excellent communication skills and a high level of personal motivation are required.

Desired Qualifications

The candidate selected for this position must demonstrate a strong commitment and potential to excel at both research and teaching in the area of chemical engineering. Additionally, the candidate will have a strong record of scholarly publication, an ability to attract and sustain externally sponsored research funding to support their research program, effectively teach undergraduate and graduate courses, and mentor graduate and undergraduate students.
